E06 / SOURCE-LINKED RECORD

Overnight calls, texts, and voicemails

Jurors heard voicemails and were shown messages sent after O'Keefe stopped responding.

What the record shows

Guarino described calls beginning at about 12:33 a.m. and presented eight voicemails in the retrial. The first voicemail, at 12:37 a.m., expressed anger; later messages sought O'Keefe's whereabouts. The first trial also included a 1:04 a.m. text saying Read was in Mansfield. The start of the calling sequence and the first voicemail are different times.

Limits and disputed context

Message content can be compared with other records. It does not independently reveal what a sender knew or why a message was sent.
